Prayers release.

As a child I prayed. 
I never understood why. 
It was explained to me many times,
A prayer is asking a god to forgive you.
To make your wildest dreams come true. 
A prayer is like talking to a friend. 
And a friend knows of your every sin. 
A prayer is outspoken.
We don't realize a prayer is about hoping. 
Whether it be of someone actually hearing our words aloud. 
Or it be of admitting to something the wrongs we've done. 
A prayer has hope.
A hope that someone hears.
Words that fall from our lips. 
The lies our hearts hold near. 
Admitting to a god of your sin. 
Asking him to watch over our kin. 
It's a funny thing what we believe in.
I often wonder if they are actually listening.
