"PREDILECTION"

"PREDILECTION"

I admit
I'm apprehensive
Inquisitive eyes observe
You, my point of convergence
Shut out the rest of the room
Irresolute
You're in my view
Nothing left to lose
Do I make I move

A fortnight ago
Lounging in my chair
My nethermost thoughts surface
Upon my tunic
A strand of her hair
How it came to be
When she brushed past me
Then she fell away

There I stood, poised
Painstakingly immobilized
Her smile erupts chills
Against my will

My love flows
As deep as oceans
How my heart goes
Visions in rapid motion
Flicker in my restless cognizance
It makes me unwind
In the most wonderfully harrowing way
These bearings, do I speak

Not beyond your spell
Taken by you
When you are vicinal
Igniting the fuse
Of things I had assumed
Had died in me
I find my self devoured
Yet complacent
