Pretty fair maiden 💕
Pretty fair maiden 💕
Oh fair pretty Maiden amidst yon countryside
I beg of thee, will thouest be my bride?
As I mounted on my white stallion and traversed far and wide
I sensed such solemnness as ye stood and cried..
“Alas my brave soldier I cannot marry ye”
Mine eyes shall fall in love whence thy heart is free
I watched ye with yon wench tho so sad I be
Ye shall bid me farewell comest thy day ye flee
Her hurting lover lad galloped away
Aghast whilst heartbroken, not knowing words to say
Soon a second wench rode by on her Mare, fine and grey
Wedding bands were exchanged and they fled betwixt that twilight of the day…
