Pride

Pride

I faltered and wept,
Mistakes galore,
The inevitable crept,
Nerves and more!

I paced alone,
Two and throw,
The instructor showed,
Courage grew.

I stepped outside,
And into his car,
Confidence and pride,
I had travelled so far.

The moment was here,
This day was mine,
No room for fear,
I focused my mind.

The traffic was fast,
Car crash and police,
It was over at last,
I was at peace.

I buckled in glee,
He shook my hand,
I could now flee,
Over all land.

My family embrace,
Such pride in my soul,
To see smiles on their face,
I had reached my goal.
