PRIMA BALLERINA
Slowly around the dance floor, they danced a minuet
but all she wanted, was to break free, and pirouette
she once was a prima ballerina, on tip toes she showed grace
The elegance of the dance, the love of it,showing on her face.
From Swan Lake to The Nutcracker, she had danced them all
she had aged, but she could dream of them, remember, recall
In her reverie her mind had wandered, taken her far away
to the happiest of times in her life, when she did her ballet
And now here she was, eighty still dancing around the floor
she had married her ballerino,,she could ask for nothing more
There was still the music of Tchaikovsky, his stories told in dance
she could still watch and listen,to the magic, mystery, and romance
She had gotten her prince and lived,a happy ever after
she had been blessed in her life with much love and laughter
And although, she was dancing, slowly, slowly,to a minuet
in her head she`s that ballerina performing,a magnificent pirouette

My Dear Debs,
From Margot Fonteyn to Anna Pavlova
We watched "Prima Ballerinas" oft fly
With pirouettes and jetes
Their leaps o'er four feet high
.
The landings were so graceful
You would never hear their toes
The greatest of the century
To World renown they rose
Love,
