Prison

Looking out the window with no hope in sight
Wondering what happened that dreadful night
Over and over it goes through my mind
"How did I end up here?" everything was fine
Then reality hits me all at once
About what I have really done
Destroying my life and not the only ones
Asking all the questions What, When, Where, and Who
Just waiting for my the appeal to go through
The hardest part is accepting my wrongs
No more What ifs that this is my fault
It is what it is
Bettering myself with coming of age
but never can I forget the fit of my rage
Being a number now not having a name
but changing my identity does not take away the shame
So how do I overcome these great walls I see
By teaching someone not to be like me
