Procol Harem
We skipped the light fandango, turning cartwheels 'cross the floor,
no one knew who wrote the song, maybe it happened once before;
didn't even know what it meant, turned out to be the best,
like someone once said: maybe simply better than all the rest
We remember songs from a hundred years ago, some maybe,
symptomatic with hairstyles but now we have Harry Styles;
the gavotte couldn't have been quite really so dynamic but
they thought it was - what would they think of our music today?Ā
Come and amuse me at court before you fight at Agincourt,
if you don't satisfy me, thenĀ I may cut your head off, sport;
Henry chased the deer in Richmond park, he didn't invade
the Americas otherwise we'd be chasing Indians down a trail.
They say there is no reason - we don't need one really,
we'll just change the dynamic, for all and sundry, yearly.
