Prognosis
To Dave....Only love mate
There's no such thing as karma
Or my friend wouldn't have been
Dealt such a bad hand
My friend has suffered badly
Witnessing the death of
His partner first hand....
There's no such thing as karma
As the nicest person I know
Gave socks and money
To the homeless
In the knowledge
They'll use the cash for blow...
There's no such as karma
For that I'm sure I know
I know because
My best friends son
Lies resting six feet below...
There's no such thing as karma
I'm one hundred percent sure
For if there was
Motor neuron disease
Would certainly have a cure...
The prognosis for my friend
Doesn't look good
But yet his smile
Is visible from a mile
And his character and demeanor
Is as solid as oak wood..

Powerful poetry. Warm and sad. Just a lovely read. I can`t imagine what your friend is going through... Terrible. Awesome tribute here. Peace to you Syd. Wishes to your kind friend.
Thank you so much for your kind comment Max. Yes my friend Dave has had the roughest ride I've ever known and he's still smiling. It breaks my heart to know that he has been diagnosed with a terminal disease. He's truly one of the nicest human beings on the planet.
Take care Fish

Life sucks and death just laughs at us I think. I am so sorry about your friend. x
It certainly does Marion.
Thank you for reading and commenting.
Hope you are well - Syd
Hello Syd, I can relate to your poem, which is a deeply thoughtful tribute to a friend who clearly has been through the mill as I call it. I am glad he has a friend like you, fighting his corner and ensuring he feels supported and loved. A wonderful write and I think the first time I have read you. So I must read more. Death divides us and leaves us in constant turmoil, so having a good solid friend can make all the difference. You clearly are that friend for him

Thank you so much for your kind words Gwendoline. Yes, he has certainly been through the mill. The worse things always happen to the nicest of people. His diagnosis really knocked me for six yet Dave always has a smile on his face. He's a model human being.
