Poem -

He Smiled: and Said Yes

She tore the crowd: five foot nine; and she loved a friend.
We spoke of visions, and became close. He was often away:
Other affairs! She knew, and pleaded love. I uttered not a
Word; and she cried—my arm. I spoke the calm; and

Favored love. She felt alone, even unwanted: I couldn’t
Fathom; but I could. Our hugs were different: something
Lingered: a tacit sun. The light was brilliant, even pure.
At school, we hung out. She found reasons to touch me.

“I love ice cream”: and then a subtle pinch. “Where is Nikki”:
 And then a tender grip. I was so enchanted; and my friend
Was so aware. Once he asked: “have you two kissed?” I
Looked intently, and uttered no. We laughed the promise;
And he confessed: “I’m not into her, she’s a virgin.” I said:
I like her: are you cool with that. He smiled: and said “Yes.”

Dear Glenn,

Great sonnet as usual, ,y love, my applause, my vote

Looked intently, and uttered no. We laughed the promise;
And he confessed: “I’m not into her, she’s a virgin.” I said:
I like her: are you cool with that. He smiled: and said “Yes.”
