You promise your love is forever,
That you can’t bear to see him gone,
That you’ll shelter him through the weather,
But your heart you never pass on,
He buries you in sentiment,
In his love and all his fears,
He trusts you in supposed love,
And you shed your guilty tears,
For soon he’ll have you to blame,
For the trap around his heart,
And now you’re stuck in deserving shame,
After casting cupid’s dart,
Ironic that you built those walls to protect your soul,
When it was you who held the knife,
You who held his soul,
And you who thieved his dignity,
While playing the part of the troll,
As they say, ‘promises are meant to be broken,’
In life and in love,
But the price is the demon you’ve awoken,
Because it’s you the devil’s whispering of…
