Public Fornication

Even though this poem is fictional, it was inspired by a true story.

Public Fornication

I thought she was special and I sure did love her.
But I learned that she's not the kind of woman who I could take home to meet my mother.
She and a man were in a parked car at the mall and they were having sexual relations.
Someone called the police and she and her lover were arrested for public fornication.
I loved that woman with all of my heart and soul.
When I learned what she did, it sure took its toll.
People who walked past the car could see her having relations and she and her lover didn't care.
Even children may have seen them, I was devastated and it was too much for my heart to bear.
She's a woman and I was totally wrong when I thought that she's a lady as well.
I wanted to marry her but I took the engagement ring to the pawn shop to sell.
She and her lover were in trouble because of their public fornication.
She broke my heart and now all that I feel is misery and devastation.
