Public Thinking

Public Thinking

I am walking down Yonge St. for the first time
In the city of Toronto for the first time
For the first time I am lost
I'm glad,
gratified
I'm alone,
unadulterated
in this throng
One, emancipated
All belong
We are walking in different eras, sundry clouds we go into are memories and altered states
Made by vain desires

I walk into quaint emporiums and novelty shops
I buy what they never sell
I go to dark restaurants
And order what nobody wants
I hear languages from around the world
As make my way to the Tower
The language I use is cryptic
I think aloud and people pay mind
Breadcrumbs of clues I leave behind
I am withered, turn to salt in a pillar, I am false enlightenment,
thinking out loud
Until I forget what I came here to forget
