Quick Sand

Quick Sand

  Sometimes I accidentally step
Into quick sand and I find myself
Slowly sinking.

I thrash and panic looking for
Something to grab on to.

To pull me out

But I hear the quick sand yell saying;

"You can't do it, I am too strong
You’re already sinking faster and faster!"

It laughs at me.
My struggle amuses it.

The more I panic and the more I
Try to pull myself out,
I sink further and further.

I let my body go numb; all the
Energy is drained out of me.
I'm not strong enough to
Lift up these weights.

I take a deep breath and
Close my tired eyes;
Waiting for the sand to
Swallow me whole.

But something strange occurs,
As i open my eyes I soon discover
That the quicksand has disappeared.
As if it was never there
