RACISM & THE BELIEF

RACISM & THE BELIEF

Racism bleeds into our humanities

as our breath no longer oxygenates its peril

and in whose withering has caste its seeds.

We idealize the days of its death

but remain vigil at its impending doom

hidden like a cloud of lightning ready to strike.

How we profess to not hate race

yet the southern imprinting remains a fog

as any meaning to fly its flag.

Whether soldiers die in vain

or steady themselves in the wind of battle

slavery shall not be framed

as a meritful death to be celebrated or honored

as people still refrain from these absurdities.

Shame has a cast of its own

and those who have sunken into its Well

will be remembered in history

recasting their bigotry

on the next generation of growers.

The Truth of prejudice and bigotry

shall not be tainted, but told and expressed.

To oppose the words of Truth

would be to remain a garden of hate and deceit.

Racism has been thrown to the Sea

for each sacrificial Man, Woman and child

killed without mercy

could not understand our misdeeds.

Our collective conscious has saved their memory

sustaining right from wrong.

We scream out for justice and when its mirror

reflects the past crimes

someone or something will remind us

where we stand.

Brothers and Sisters of color

Global recesses of Spirit and Soul gather

for the Truth has been said

and from my lungs I expel the belief …
