RAIN
Welcome it

It was stormy when I felt the first droplet hit my face,
I wiped it away and sat under the clouds watching the world go by.
A few more drops land on my cheek, it’s strange how warm they are, again I wipe it away ignoring the soft dampness.
People seem not to notice, they are oblivious to the downpour that I so clearly feel on my skin.
Another drop hits me, my leg this time, wetting the material and causing it to stick to me.
I watch the drops hit my leg, my arm, my hand...then I realise,
The people didn’t notice because there was no rain,
They didn’t notice because there were no clouds that they could see,
I was the oblivious one,
The rain is coming from my eyes,
The storm is in my mind,
The clouds a reminder that my pain follows me no matter where I go,
Those things I could not brush away how you brush away rain drops,
I long for rain now, for it to wash away my tears the way it washes away dirt off a car or pollen from a flower,Â
Rain would be welcomed.

How could I not give 5 stars to this heart wrenching write? It is emotional and raw and it comes across as very, very real. Hugs x
