The rain

I heard the sound that was had to ignore
My feets forced me to move towards the door
But the door was to far I refused to move at all
As the warmth of my blanket refused to let me go

The sound was persisting and getting louder than before
I layed my head on the pillow and wished for it to stop
So I can shut my eyes and dream a little more
Well, I thought it was midnight as my lights were switched off

A thought came to mind of looking at the clock
To my suprise I found out it was seven o'clock
My eyes turned to the window for morning to be conformed
As darkness in my room conviced me that my clock was wrong

I slided the curtain and it was like I was wearing a blind fold
The light was too bright, it made my sleepy eyelids fall
When I opened them again I saw heavy water drops
Yes, it was the rain, pouring like a waterfall

On the road, were people running to and from
Covering their heads to avoid the cold drops
But the rain didn't care, it poured more and more
And not even a remote would have persuaded it to pause

As time went by, the sound became low
I looked through the window and saw people moving slow
I went outside and saw the rainbow
Oh! What a beautiful morning the rain have brought

I cleaned the house and mopped the floors
I washed the windows including the clothes
I made some tea and sipped it slow
Thanks to the rain, I have done it all
