RAPE
Rape is something that happened to me.
I told him no as he quickly undressed me.
I hollered then he covered my mouth as I repeatedly told him stop, stop!
I never did report the rapist for his crime for I thought the fault was all mine.
I write this poem to encourage rape victims to speak out so that rapist can be placed behind bars.
Do not allow another rapist to walk away freely to wound the soul of a young girl or maybe someone in your family.

I want to thank you for your sympathy Tony. I am not sure why I wanted to share my rape incident other than to help rape victims. I experienced rape when I was eighteen years old and never discussed the incident with anyone because I felt stupid and thought that it was my fault. Thank you so much.
Thank you for your support Maveli.

my poem "harpoons" is actually about that weird... lack of clarity that comes with these. the self doubt, the connection, and the bizarre sympathy felt for the attacker that I always got
