Reach Out
Reaching out, but holding back
So hard to watch his world turn black
Youβre on the outside, looking in
You cannot see the pain within
You long to help, but are turned away
Will he see another day?
A daily fight, you see no end
But youβll stay the fight, your will wonβt bend
You canβt afford to be dragged in
You cannot let depression win
With strong resolve, you carry on
Youβre losing hope, youβre patience gone
Then just a glimmer re-appears
Of the man youβve loved for all these years
Another day comes to a close
What tomorrow brings, no-one can know

Thank you Erica for your lovely comment.
beautiful write!
Thank you for your kind comment :)
Good aabb rhyme scheme throughout, Catherine.
Your poem reads very smoothly aloud.
Written primarily in iambic tetrameter, it is a poem I think many will be able to relate to.
One thing you might wanna have a look at is the following line:
"Youβre losing hope, [youβre] patience gone"βThe way this reads now with the contraction "you're" is this:"You're losing hope, you are (you're) patience is gone."
I believe you meant to use the possessive form of the word:
Youβre losing hope, your patience gone
Nicely penned,

Thanks Dean :)
