Recipe For Mother

Bless this woman, Lord I pray-
Let her rest be found in thee!
Ease her mind of troubling thoughts-
Cast her burdens to the sea!
Lord, please give her courage in measure!
May a cup of strength greet her each day!
A pitcher of joy may she find waiting-
as she bows her head to pray!
Grant that she find herself in your embrace!
Add a dash of lily fragrance for her to savor!
Allow her comfort by the spoonfuls!
May her song of praise, with you, find favor!
Please send The Holy Ghost to stir her heart-
and knead out her worries and fear.
God please shew her a pinch of Heaven!
So she can pull such a vision near.
...And while this trial you bring her through-
Father, warm her with your love!
So that she may rise and honor you-
Who gave for us all your perfect Dove!
May this recipe yield a thousand fold!
Oh God, Keep mother in thy care-
So that when another soul needs fed-
She can of your bounty share!

Thanks Tony. This poem was requested many times on mother's day through the years. I had originally placed it, in a book of poems that I published and gave to my mother as a gift. I am so thankful "Mom" got to have the book before she went Home to the Lord. She was beautiful, inside and out! She and Dad wereΒ together 53 years, when he passed on. They were an adorable couple! Thanks for the comment. Hugs Paula
