Reclaiming

If you shadow a shadow
 Do you age believing
Pitch an adequate
 Measure of humanity?

Do you- in some semblance
 Of reality- consider
Even a distant shade of
 Light cause for guilt?

Here I stand, subtly
 Ashamed at natural emotion,
Robbed of the beauty of
 Life’s most precious gifts.

God, restore me.
 I can no longer pretend
I am not lost without
 Your every gesture.
