Recognised

Recognised

All I know of you
Are two eyes,
Big and grey
Aged and wise.

Aswell as these
A crooked nose,
A dazzling smile
And rhythmic toes.

And yet I love you
Very much,
Despite only feeling
An hour's touch.

'But who oh who?-'
I can't help but ponder,
'Is the man behind the mask?'
I wonder.

And I think
'Could it be?
That this here man
He too loves me?'

And it seems
You read my mind,
For you say 'i do'
And my nerves unwind.

You spin me out
Then bring me back in,
An explosion of fireworks
In my heart begins.

'But how can it be?-' I ask,
'That I love you so?
When the man behind the mask
I do not know?'

'My love' you say as you pull me close,
'Is it really a surprise?-
Did your heart not feel what mine instantly did?
For your heart, I feel, it recognised'

I love how you can go from the deepest depths of emotion to lighthearted fantasy. Expanding your mind to run in all the four winds. Let's hope you meet your dreams face to face one day
