RED POPPIES IN A FIELD

The red poppies sway in a field somewhere in France
They signify soldiers who didn't stand a chance 
People who defended their country we must not forget 
They started with hopes and aspirations I'm willing to bet 

How can killing another person be right 
Kill or be killed during the day or by night 
The wars continue on to this day
It's time for wars to end is all I will say
