Redemption

The world whispers poetic justice in our ears
Open them up, forget those sorrows and wipe your juvenile tears
Redemption, cleanses our tainted souls, has no exclusions
Believing such a thing leads to fault and delusions
The haunted souls that caused you pain must pay the toll to karma's gate keeper
And when they refuse, their debt lands in the hands of the grim reaper
Little boy, you are not alone, though it may feel that way
You've lost this exhausting battle, but you live to fight another day
Stand up, unload the baggage that ways you down, give it to the river
Forgive the sins laid upon you by evil entities, and watch your heart expand and get richer
Redemption is on it's way for those who are worthy
Let go of sadness, what goes around, comes around, so live your life, and don't you worry

Hey AMBER!!.......VERY insightful my friend.......... well delivered poetic advice.......... redemption has a way of surfacing at just the right time......... maybe not when a person wants it to........... but it does find a way...........I wrote a song called "Redeemed" for the Naval Jazz Ensemble.......... exact same conclusions in your poem as in my song........... Love your stuff............. smiles..........T xo
Thanks Tony. I wrote this for my little brother who is battling depression right now. We had a vey abusive step father and he is reliving it through nightmares. Just trying to make him feel better
I have dealt with it myself ~ severely ~ as I'm sure you know from my write on suicide..........IF........you can get him to read this............ it will help A LITTLE............. promise.......... you're a pretty cool Big Sis!!.......... high fives!!..........T xo
I try to be. Thanks for your support friend
Well said, Amber.....wow, redemption is quite a concept isn't it? I've always understood that word from a biblical sense; to buy back or pay for....even the playing field....and I really like this pull quote
Redemption, cleanses our tainted souls, has no exclusions
seems to suggest, justice.....and I have to ask myself if there is 'justice' for all in this world?
...Redemption is on it's way for those who are worthy....
another impressive quote here, Amber....so, if 'justice' or 'redemption' exists it applies to only those who are worthy? I've not heard that point of view before, that is fascinating....good food for thought is this one, I really like the way you write, my friend.....you engage and challenge the reader with fresh approaches.... you're not vain, shallow, and boring, no doubt about that....enjoyed reading....cheers
Hey Christopher. Even as a little girl in Sunday school, I got in trouble for questioning the bible. How can someone so evil be possibly be forgiven for all the harm that they have done. Yet a gay couple is doomed to hell no questions asked. That's my point. So much is rubbish to me. Other people attack me for not believing in some magical man in the sky who lets anyone and everyone into his kingdom just as long as they are "sorry" for what they have done. And if I'm wrong, then in my eyes, there is no such thing as justice. Thanks for reading! I'm stoked you like my work
wow, Amber, your explanation of the poem is remarkable, thanks for that...they say true art is not what you see but what you can make others see, and that's fine and good, but what the hell, the wall of separation sometimes can come down between the reader and poet....to be honest I saw something different when I first read the poem, I could only see the 'philosophy' part of the write but in hearing of your younger brother, it personalizes the poem, adds even more layers to it....fascinating stuff, you write through your heart, cool....and just a note, with your permission..... religion is a personal thing to me, I have my beliefs and still question many things. The folks in my congregation who want to be dogmatic and dismiss the 'real' questions, instead of engaging in conversation, are quite frankly morons who exist and find joy in their own reality. And so be it, lol. It seems you don't believe in God, Amber. So? I do believe in God. That doesn't make you any better than me or me any better than you. I once heard it said that if you can look back at the day believing you've made the best of it, you will be able to fall asleep....that's my take on all that, lol....hey once again, superb poetry.
I appreciate you taking the time to understand my work. I do believe in God I don't believe in organized religion. I don't believe in alot that we are taught. But I know somehow someway there must be a God. I hace read the bible, the koran and the satanic bible for a paper I did in college. And alot of things don't add up. Perhaps these books were meant to control us
Or perhaps you're right, and I don't believe in God and I'm only kidding myself. I sure am trying to believe
