Reflect

Reflect

Gazing at the creature looking back at me I notice the pain in the eyes,
The faces of those that hurt me,
What could I have done to deserve this pain?
Part of me wants to go crawling back, while the other is holding on to what little dignity I have left.

Through my never ending agony,
Thoughts of you are my only comfort,
My home is a place I no longer know,
You believed in me when no one else would,
But their words have broken me and yours mend the cracks.

Here I will wait, for me to believe in what you say,
You sit with me, resting your head on my shoulder whispering sweet words in my ear,
But I need more time to reflect,
Home no longer seems so far away, with you by my side.
