Reflections
So when you see yourself as others see you
You just can't believe their eyes
You just don't look the same at allĀ
You've been telling yourself lies.
Though you lived in self delusionĀ
And confused yourself with truth,
Now the days have all grown colder
Ā And you mourn your misspent youth.
Well, outside storms may be raging,
Or you might hear a midnight call
But, you've lived your life in hiding
And they don't mean a thing at all.
So you feel you should doĀ something
And you force yourself to think
But your contemplations are forgotten
When the waitress brings your drink.
Yet the scars the smiles are hidingĀ
Can't stay below the skin
When the sandman finally enters
All your memories live again.
You can listen to the drummer
Playing loud back in your head
But the music only covers
All the things you left unsaid.
And Morrison seems to call you
From a motel where he lives
Yes HE knows life has deceived you
And there's nothing left to give.
While your debts all keep mounting
And you can't see no relief
But the payment isn't money
You must give up your beliefs.
And you find no truth around you
But that's not all you seem to lack
You can't go on like you'd like to
There's no one to watch your back.Ā
