Remember

Remember how we used to be
when we could sit together.
How we used to laugh & chat with each other.
Remember when we went out for a walk or for something to eat.
Now we're wary of every one we meet.
Remember moaning about a queue of three and tutting.
Now every day places are shutting.
Remember hugging and passing the time of day
Now we're self isolating and standing 6 feet away.
Remember going to work and wishing for days off.
Now you're at home bored but dreading a cough.
Remember shopping was a chore but you had choices of when to go
But panic buying & self people increased our tale of woe.
Remember when this is over appreciate what you've gotĀ
go on holiday, somewhere hot.

Good job!Ā
I think life will get back to normal, as normal as it was in our world before the pandemic. Then, we will be focused again on war, terrorism, famine and economic struggles around the world. Thanks for sharing your poem. Welcome to Cosmofunnel!Ā
Lovely words, Amanda. If we learn anything from this pandemic let it be that we realise how fragile the human race really is and how much we really need each other. Let the love shine out...and let there finally be peace (okay, okay I can hope cant I?).Ā Lovely poem x
Nicely put Amanda, suddenly small things mean so much, the details of our lives now hold so much more colour. We might have to wait to gain some of those hues back, but once we do, I think we will all view it with more appreciation than we ever did before. Thanks for sharing your poem :)Ā
A great poem Amanda. But wondering if there's a word missed out between "self" and "people" on third last line? Doesn't quite gel.
I think there will be a massive surge of people going on a holiday when this is over.
Great poetry Amanda.
