Remember

Shivered image midst murky loch,
Qualm in mind, probe the dark,
Shattered memories hasten flock,
Mind asleep, heart in hark.

Poignant pass twixt the light,
Oiled lamps & cobbled roads,
Pounding hooves, reflect in blight,
Foggy sketch swift erodes.

Echoes anon recrudesce,
Crinoline velvet, hair in braid,
Abode midst mead picturesque,
Splintered vignette abrupt evade.

Olive drab march in plight,
Angst amongst the fallen many,
A glimpse within subconscious sight,
Rippled waters, a fallen penny.
