Remember the Day

I remember every moment we've spent together
from youth's much brighter days
to those transitional foolish ways

Those days on the porch swing have passed
both our hearts have been harassed
yet our bond, though worn, still lasts

Oh the storms that we've weathered
and the experiences endured
all for the sake to have our love matured

The day spent at the county fair
the lingering scent of your hair
happiness I enjoyed beside you there

When we amidst darkness had tethered
our tent with the rain-fly reversed
waking up in a lake, oh how we cursed!

And our journey across the amazing lake
you that day my breath did take
no more beautiful a woman did God ever make
