Poem -

Remember them too.

Remember them too.

From a stable
from a meadow
from a peaceful pastoral life
they came to fall in Flanders Fields

no white gravestone
but a crater in the earth
on which they raced as heroes
their medal a shrapnel

I smell and see them
looking over my shoulder
reading these words of remembrance

and smile.

Thank you, Tina.
I live in Flanders Fields near Ieper.  I want to honour horses, dogs and other animals who 'served' in WW1.
I am very pleased with your '... A fab little tribute poem...'
I will continue with this topic.

Greetings out of Flanders.
