REMEMBERING THE FAIRGROUND

Candy floss stuck to her already sticky faceÂ
She went on every ride at a breakneck paceÂ
Tried to get a teddy at the darting stallÂ
Shooting at objects from over a wallÂ
Hooping the ducks proved difficult and hard
While the funny mirrors caught her off guard
The fortune teller told her she'd marry at twentyÂ
With regards to family there'd be kids a plentyÂ
She wasn't scared on the ghost train one jotÂ
The haunted house though scared her a lotÂ
Only a handful of money lost at the penny arcade
When driving a dodgem be ready and afraidÂ
All good things the saying goes just don't lastÂ
That time at the fairground part of her pastÂ
Remembers it fondly and will do forever more
What she had for tea last night she can't be sure
