REMEMBERING THE FAIRGROUND

Candy floss stuck to her already sticky face
She went on every ride at a breakneck pace
Tried to get a teddy at the darting stall
Shooting at objects from over a wall

Hooping the ducks proved difficult and hard
While the funny mirrors caught her off guard
The fortune teller told her she'd marry at twenty
With regards to family there'd be kids a plenty

She wasn't scared on the ghost train one jot
The haunted house though scared her a lot
Only a handful of money lost at the penny arcade
When driving a dodgem be ready and afraid

All good things the saying goes just don't last
That time at the fairground part of her past
Remembers it fondly and will do forever more
What she had for tea last night she can't be sure
