REMORSE

Why did you doubt your heartÂ
I really did care for you
Even though turbulent timesÂ
Lasted longer than they should have
Funny how the tides have turnedÂ
Me acting the fool and being cruelÂ
And you my loveÂ
Staying the course being faithfulÂ
It took a while for reality to kiss my mindÂ
And maturity to seize my heartÂ
Causing your patience grow weakÂ
And your trust in me to failed
The voice of another called out to you
In the time of compounded questionsÂ
Without answersÂ
And you embraced the appeal instead of me
Now here I stand mature but aloneÂ
I had stayed too long in the arms of the night
Seeking a fallen starÂ
When you my guiding lightÂ
Were always there as the sun in my face
My heart said sorry a little too lateÂ
My mind repented but in your absenceÂ
I longed to hold you in the safety of my arms
But to this day they remain empty
Because of my immaturity and shortsightednessÂ
But until my eyes closes its doors in eternal sleepÂ
Or my heartbeat escapes the confines of my chestÂ
I will forever live with this self inflicted curseÂ
Of a broken heart filled with remorse.

Hi Wilford,
WOW, this was a gut wrenching view of survival till maturity. A road strewn will ruined lives. Bravo, well said!

Thanks very much JP..
i maself had fell into various pits in life..
some I was able to climb out at a rapid pace..
others not so fast..
Looking back I realized.. much of the pains I experienced was self inflicted..Â
there were other choices I could and should of made, but they did not appeal to me at the time.
And by the time I was awaken out of sleep..
the lost was tremendous..
Nevertheless... today I am in a more secured and mature state of mind..
thanks again for your comments my friend.Â
Have a wonderful weekend.
