Requiem

Requiem

Requiem betwixt parterre of white,
Breath left to a woeful mourn,
Sombre hue, lament in plight,
Sorrow embrace from dusk through dawn.

Orison midst cries, lyrical endear,
Broken hearted, angst and pain,
Gather in solace, shared loss sincere,
Absence of real, surreal sustained.

Wilted rose, soft petals adrift,
An empty vessel we bestow our love,
Where souls depart and cross the rift,
Amidst the stars that shine above.
