Requiem

You cannot pick me up
For I am your transgressor
You cannot wake me,
I am your confessor
That thy shalt seek remorse
For this atonement
This atonement is for eternity
You cannot save me now
Not a hundred pianos nor a 100 players
The dead wilt in the dark
Amidst the mould of remorse
Where this dark day ends
In this the last concerto
Play this melody through the silence
Wakening soldiers in the darkness
Let the noise permeate and transcend
Until waters gentle play
Their notes in the garden
The gardens of peace and hope
For what of you now
At this tomb a melody plays
This last Requiem of tears
Dust to dust, earth to earth
For all the forsaken years
You cannot pick me up
The soul lies dormant in the dark
The ghosts of Getsemmene have come and gone
You have exited through the door
Playing the piano once more
Dust to dust, earth to earth
A final requiem for the soul
