Reunited

Reunited

Two figures on a landscape,
One angelic in new white stone.
A cawing crow flies slowly over,
And hears a long mournful moan.

The cold grave of a baby beneath it,
It's black garbed mother still in grief.
For the loss of her only loved one,
Is so truly, cruelly, beyond belief.

Why God, why God, please why.
Did You not hear my pitiful prayers.
My only sweet babe You have taken,
Can't You feel my tears and despairs.

I hate You, despise You, I curse You,
I have no little one to attend to.
For a final fate now awaits me,
And I blame it all on cruel You.

A high cliff-edge cruelly beckoned,
This lost lonely woman filled with scorn.
She flung, she fell, she's finished,
Her barren body now tattered and torn.

Though a merciful God did heed her call,
And simply chose not to break her fall.
For she's in Heaven and so delighted,
Embracing her loved one, now reunited.

Thank you Cherie for your kind comment and supportive comment.
I'm glad you enjoyed the story.
And I guess a picture truly is worth a thousand words.
Thanks again and I wish you well. Take care.
