Revelations

I've tried to be brave;

I've made it my keeping.

(I believe true strength

is seen and not heard).

And so,

I try

to stifle my weeping.

I wear a mask,

but sometimes it will fall;

I fail my task and

I build a wall

between myself

and my soul.

But the constant acting,

it takes its toll.

And still,

I do try to be brave;

it is my keeping.

But sometimes, I realize

I don't have

to stifle my weeping.
