Poem -

Right Here

In bed, at three in the morning, I sat thinking what grief laid ahead.
And deep down, I felt our small connection slip away as we drifted off to sleep.
But it still stuck there in the back of my mind.  And I kind of figured
I’d be the one to wake up in the next couple of ours.
And I said to her from far away, “I’m right here.”  Then sleep took over.
As I was woken up early the next morning, without saying a word, they told me that
the Rose had wilted away.
