Ripples on the Water

When the night pillows my head in comfort
is the time, before my dreams,
when I reflect.
I know, we’re supposed to sleep at night
not to think or to pull out the regrets.
Is the time we’re most vulnerable,
our souls naked exposed,
as reflections happen at midnight
when the eyes seek a quiet repose.
Compassion on other’s troubles
develops wings
and gets carried away on a whim.
Kindness!
used, bemocked, abused
worded and eroded from overuse.
Not to be excused!
‘’We’re all remnants of ancient stars’’
unity…ripples…interconnected
on a symbiotic relationship
like the head and the feet,
same as the flower and the bee,
we are part of one organism
just like the wave and the sea.
Now I sleep! and dream!
of ripples on the water.

I love that... yes we are. Do you ever find that watching programmes about the planets and universe helps? When we look out from within our tiny heads the world is huge and terrifying... an hour with Brian Cox... Pluto Saturn and Jupiter always resets me. Beautiful soulful write as always B X
When my boys were young we watched many videos about space. They got fascinated!
Yes, Marion, I know Professor Brian Cox, we watched him too. He looked so young for a physicist. Since you mentioned him, I am going to watch his latest videos. Thank you for that. Will remember you when I am eating popcorn. Cheers beautiful lady😻🐶🕷🐕🦺💙
Cosmic my very dearest of Bernadete's .. this poem is really quite beautiful .. and if you don't mind me saying so, simply filled to the point of overflowing with universal truths .. Neville
Overflowing with universal truth? What a beautiful way to see it, Neville. Thank you for “seeing” my poems.
Bestest of the good wishes. B
