Rise

  Rise
My heart cries out.  Dear God, why another test?
A still voice says to me, “this is when you see love and you see it at its best.”
I grow weary with every report of flood water rising
But then I think of the rainbow of promise; reflecting upon what it’s symbolizing
A shout out of praise with every life that has been saved
In our hearts the significance of this tragedy will forever be engraved
Unity is what I hear with every question as to why
This devastation resembles the caterpillar, our love a cocoon bringing forth the butterfly
With our prayers, time, and donations we stand together creating a bond that only magnifies
Our will of never giving up while holding dearly my friends, after this fall our ability to rise
