rise the night souls

sear with sword of vengence ,risen on halloween
witches ,vampires ,reapers all to be seen
slay the dragon ,knights behold
taste the fear your heart be sold
play the game till midnight past
ghosts of ancient souls that grasp
hangs the skin blood it flows
hell hath fury this night he owns
screams,the victims chased in malice
brew of wolfsbane ,deadly nightshades chalice
devils dogs ,spells abound
headless queens ,deathly sounds
fear with the dark ,lost souls ,no light
risen the past on halloween night

Just in time for Halloween! There's a popular show on American television (new series) - 'Sleepy Hollow' based on an old story by Washington Irving- it's set on a small town outside of New York City about a headless horseman. This poem of yours dear Tina- has that same feel- also reminds me a lot of Edgar Allen Poe. Gothic and powerful literature. How Cosmo fails to elect pieces like this as prizeworthy is a wonder.
thanx james ,it is a halloween topic ,and thanks for the comparison but iv a long way to live up to a master of great poetry. i love the dark writes especially , and reading other great poems here too with the same feel .thank you ,insight well appreciated tina x
A great Halloween write Tina.
thanks very much Anita tina x
Yep, the dark souls rise in the night to disturb the peace of the living. If you've ever had a paranormal experience or know someone who has it can be very dangerous. I prefer to write about them rather then meet them in the erie dark. I'll post one of mine soon. Excellent write!
thanx valerie ,i have had a few times seeing things over the years nothing drastic but still scary ,you dont know what you have seen is real or not .i think that makes it easier to write but i wouldn't want to have a deeper experience either tina x
