The River and The Dam

The dam,
Was built to trap the river,
To take its water,
And the good it delivers.

The dam,
Restricts the river from its natural course,
An action,
That will one day come with much remorse.

The river,
People thought they could lasso with their walls,
But nothing man made lasts,
Once mother nature calls.

The river,
Struggles to break free,
Fighting with strong currents,
Hitting nothing but concrete.

The dam,
Can only last so long,
But the will of the river,
Can go on...
And on...

Until...

The river,
That was once enslaved by the dam,
Has finally broken free,
And drowned everyone.
