Road To Shore

Teams of sun
Gathered in the trees,
It's hue gold
Amber casts
Held,
Similar to a roomÂ
Golden emanating tomb;
What gloriouslyÂ
Felt
To travel by forests route
Where desolate houses
Lonely
Seem belonging
To the woods.
All a spectacle
But not as invitingÂ
As the road
That commanded
Every bit of attention
Beconing further exploration,
When greenest of mile markers
Pass by to zero
And the welcoming senseÂ
Is bay's bridge smacking
At your noseÂ
With a mixture of it's crabby, fishy smell.
Nothing is as expected
Being surrounded byÂ
Colorful hotels
Still plagued of the 50s and 60s,
Where boardwalks run parallelÂ
To a shimmeringly blue ocean,
Unimaginable fun will mingle with stress
In coming days
Of looming sunburn
And the invasion of sand
That is always a souvenirÂ
To unintentionally be taken home;
But let it not, be forgottenÂ
That road to shore
For it is yet traveled again
In unfortunate unwanted return
Of whence we came.

The poem is superb;
the format worked really well &
the story of nature and sentimentality
one could spend quite a bit of timeÂ
analysing; good for students of poetry
send to a school; enjoyed!Â
Luv from Jai :(Â
Jai my man thanks for the kind words, good for students of poetry, I like that. I built the idea around the way golden sun shined through the trees of the vast desolate woods on the way to the shore. I tried to breathe a life of emotion into this as well. Much love to you brother.
