Roger, Me and Kays Car

Roger, Me and Kays Car

In the spring of nineteen sixty-two, my Mom had a friend named Kay;

She’d visit in the early afternoon, and they’d sip martinis all the day!

She had a car that was super hot, two four barrel carburetors under the hood;

After four martinis I would say to her, β€œI’d like to borrow your car if I could”!

She’d gladly give the keys to me, and say β€œcertainly, go right ahead”;

Then I’d go pick my friend Roger up, and to the secret place we’d head!

It was known to only us teenagers, a quiet country road;

Where we’d bring our smokin’ vehicles, and drag races would explode!

I think we went there five times, but only lost one race;

For few had engines like dear Kay did, and they could not keep up the pace!

Afterwards I’d come back home then, and Kay was totally shit-faced;

She could never therefore realize, that her car had just been raced!

Our Dear G,

Who cares what those mundane stars are showing, when the greatest star in our life writes us.Β  Don't worry about Linda having to brace herself, for my days of hot, fast cars are over.Β  I traded them in for a hot, fast woman!

All our love,

Linda, Larry and Little Cody

P.S. The stars are showing now!!

Hi Sweet Rose,

She probably would have had a few martinis, and raced it herself.

Hugs, Peace and Love,
