Roped in..

Life must be pretty bad
if you have to sleep..
over a rope..
It's not natural..
Were these people that beaten.
their souls were destroyed..?
and common sense defeated..
treated worse than cattle.
They say they reached the end
of the line,,,they the living dead..
ground teaming with
infestations
all they need is a roof
over their head..
a bowel of gruel..
a slice of bread..
a kind person or something
to change their lot..
with good intention..
Each era has it's best and worst..
and history teaches nothing.
