A rose among weeds
You're everything I wish I could be
Unlike you, I'm street smart
But you, you are pure at heart
You're sheltered and protected
All of my insecurities are projected

I see in black and white
You have never had to fight
Your vision is filled with colors
The horrors of life are what I discovered

My world will soon be lost
I've gotten where I am at a high cost
I lost all my innocence 
But you are one of the few who still remain

So beautiful rose don't wish you were a weed
Don't let me drag you down with my hatred and my greed
In the darkness you're the only speck of light
Don't let me put you out, just burn bright

Being innocent isn't a bad thing
Just think of all the goodness people like you will bring
Touch people like me with your power
Turn those of us that are weeds into beautiful flowers.
