Roulette

Life Is About Chance

Roulette

I met her in a carousel spinning
Out of control and away from normalcy
She carefully hooked my eyes
Nowhere was there disguise
No denying of her savage claws
sinking into me
Her kiss would close the pain
How she camouflaged insane
With her irresistible accent
Thick with tones of the Moscow elite
High in standards, but ever so low

So will I ever know

That she sought my intelligence
Or a breakthrough of Providence
Something that would cast her heart into a chasm
So that she she'd gain a redemption
Coming from lost love and divinity

So will I ever see

A sovereignty that bleeds her
She could never be a queen
If the world looked away
But, I turned away countless times
Crying that she is evil
And she changes my mind by soothe-saying with her foreign words
My heart melts and I seek rescue
Hear my chains as she speaks
She will load her gun with one bullet
One bullet, one choice
You'll grow weak to her voice

You will play her game
And she plays to win

Thank you, Marion. I like to stray from my normal subject matter once in a while. As a writer, it's good to stretch your arms out and write something that's kind of out of your domain.
Glad you like. Peace.

Being Me

This could quite easily be about a country as well as about a women. I love the repetitive use of "So will I ever see" it really works well. Great poem, Michael. An intriguing write x

I agree. Thank you for your insight, Being Me. It does of course, refer to Russian Roulette. It's about about taking chances in life that might go in your favor. Will you follow his or her word based on their seemingly good intentions? Or will you listen to your heart, go with your instincts? Or will you just play the game and let the chips fall where they may? The moral of this piece is, it is better to listen to your heart. Thanks, BM.
