DEATH ROW

DEATH ROW

I committed a murder 20 years ago
Serving my time on the notorious death row
I killed your lover and now I must pay
A life for a life so the governors say

I realise now that I should not have shot your lover down
I realise too that I caused a scandal in this small American town
20 years to reflect on the actions of my crime
Wishing I could turn back the clock and stop all time

So I face up to death on that electric chair
The death penalty to some seems harsh and unfair
To me it is the beginning of the end
I am off to meet my maker my one true friend
