Poem -

Royals

We are not kings

We are not queens

We are merely peasants

In a kingdom of accepted royals

We live off the crumbs of the earth

So that we can survive another day

Nothing is given to us

We have to get it ourselves

Each in our own way

We wear invisible crowns of inward beauty

Our hearts worth solid gold

We sit on thrones of truth

And yet we cannot be bold

Because in this society

We are not royal

In this kingdom

We are worth nothing

In this kingdom

Royalty wear crowns of judgemental thoughts

Their hearts made of iron pyrite

They sit on thrones of lies

They give nothing back to the world

Yet we peasants are the ones despised

In this kingdom

We fight dragons

That spit fire and bloody words

And no matter if we win or lose

One day we will claim our thrones

We will enter our own kingdoms

We will be royalty
