Poem -

Run

Bang, a shot is fired.

One life ends.

Dogs bark as a limp body crashes to the ground.

Brian sprints away into the dark.

He vaults fence after fence until he reaches the river.

Hurling the gun into the river he slows to a walk as he reaches his car.

The keys dangle from the ignition taunting him.

Damn

Smashing the window with his elbow he grabs the keys and tries to unlock the door,

but not before his alarm goes off.

Clumsily he drops the keys and reaches down, only to cut his forehead on the jagged window.

Cursing with pain as blood drips into his eyes he unlocks the car and drives off.

He feels light headed and the pain goes away.

Skreeech Boom, two cars explode in flame throwing doors and tires in every direction.

Two lives end.
