Rusted Corridor

Rusted Corridor

Rusted Corridor By: Gregory Tucker
A metallic scent
Overwhelms me
As I glaze behind
A rusted corridor.
She saw me there
Hovering over
Like a spirit that
Inhibited my youth
Echoes of yesterday
Whispers of tomorrow
Haunt me at my present
With an uncomfortable
Reminder
That things were left unspoken
Unresolved
In the abyss
Of my unconscious
My soul mate
Our children
Are the ointments
That sooth
A troubling past
Of things not
Obtained nor forgotten
