Safe Haven

AEK

Safe Haven

Until the day I met you
I did not know for sure
If I would ever find love

Until the day I met you
I did not know for sure
If I would ever find a soulmate

So amazing, pure and true
Your dark brown eyes
Skin that glows like gold
Put all my doubts to rest forever

Brought by the warmth of your loving soul
This was destined to be
An everlasting moment
The true meaning behind a purpose-driven life

We all crave for a nest to rest
Never anxious, ever joyful
For perfect peace to reside
The SAFE HAVEN

.....................................................

For you the SAFE HAVEN will be

A place you can retreat
When frightened by lightening

A place you can find comfort
When the winds blow in the opposite direction

A place to hibernate in my arms
Till the spring springs forth

You searched for calm and peace, but

I failed to catch you when you almost fell
I failed to hold you until the fear subsided
I failed to shield you in my heart
I failed to protect you from the cold street

Forgive me!
Can I hold your hand

Forgive my cold-heartedness!
Can we have a cup of tea

Forgive my ignorance!
Your existence means a lot to me

Forgive my temper!
I have learned how to respect conversations

Forgive my attitude!
Can we dine
And move away from what drifted us apart

Hear me please
I ask for forgiveness!

Gathered my mistakes
Rinsed them with honesty and self-reflection
Dried them in the sun until the regret became brittle
Cover me with forgiveness

I have to find you again
My heart longs for you
This is my turning point from despair
I got lost without you

In this SAFE HAVEN I create
As you lie in my arms
Here you’ll be safe

For me, it is no one but you
I love you
